Patient Information

How to prepare for treatment

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing during your treatment - many acu points are below elbows & knees.

  • Make sure you have eaten before receiving acupuncture - do not come with an empty stomach.

  • Do not brush your tongue the day of treatment. The information from your tongue coat is part of the diagnostics.

  • Patient forms are available online for you to fill out at home. You are also welcome to come 15 minutes early to your appointment to fill them out at my office.

  • The first portion of the treatment is a 30 to 45 minute discussion of what you'd like treatment for, as well as other conditions and the overall state of your health and wellbeing.

  • After this discussion I will do some physical assessments, feel your pulse, look at tongue.

  • Needles can be left in for anywhere from 5 to 45 minutes.

  • After your treatment we will talk about a treatment plan for the future, as well as dietary and lifestyle advice.

  • First office visits are about 90 minutes. After that, visits are about an hour.

  • Kindly give 24-hour notice for cancellation so that another person can have that time. There is a $40 charge for the missed appointment unless it is an emergency.
